I first met Alan Phillips compering at a local Community Event and was immediately drawn to his professionalism. Every year my dance school holds an end-of-year Dance Production and I am always in need of an excellent compere to help the concert run smoothly. I found Alan to be very approachable and was delighted that he was very keen to be apart of our Production.
Alan Phillips has proven to be extremely reliable and is well prepared, has a great, positive attitude and is sensitive and respectful of your expectations. I was extremely satisfied in Alan’s compering for our show. He has a warm, clear speaking voice and copes very well under pressure. Alan is also quick-thinking and was able to improvise during a few spots in our programme where young students were not ready. He communicates very well with all ages and it is evident that he enjoys compering.
I will definitely be using Alan’s compering services for our future shows!
Hi Alan,
It is truly our pleasure that you use our vids on your site and we sincerely wish you the best in all of your endeavors as I believe that you are a true professional, sincere and highly talented spokesperson and representative of our great sport. Alan, you have a gift that gives your listening audience an extremely professional, educated and informative experience that many remember as a major part of the experience of the event that encumbers their memories and recollections..........in essence you have the power of making people relax and totally enjoy the BMX racing experience.
I have to admit that when I know you're calling a race, I always know that it will be an absolute pearler, remember the 2010 Aussies in Shepparton, WATCH THE 2010 crash vid and hear your voice 2010 Aussies Crash
I have enjoyed working with Alan Phillips for the past 4 years on a variety of Cancer Council fundraising events. Since 2004, he has played an integral role in volunteer committees that deliver an important community based fundraising event, the Relay for Life. Alan has been Committee Chair, organised entertainment and activities and most importantly, has acted as the MC for these events.
Alan brings many special qualities to any role he tackles. He has a talent for making people feel at ease in all situations and displays polished skills for his greatest passion – ‘commentating’ an event. Whether the event requires an element of humour, compassion, relaying specific information and statistics or interpreting events as they unfold, Alan is an invaluable asset to any event.
I met Alan Phillips in 2008 in Adelaide, Australia where he was the Chief commentator for a World Class BMX event. I was very impressed with his skill at his craft and easy-going style. I enjoyed listening to but more important I could see the reaction from the crowd. Alan has a very sincere way of engaging the spectators that brings life, excitement and very positive spirit to the event. As a commentator for several years in American horse events, I learned that the "man behind the mic" controls the success of the event.
Live events are extremely difficult because the commentator must be able to think on his feet but react moment by moment to the action that is occurring in the event. Alan does his homework and takes the time to understand the subject of his commentary so that it flows flawlessly from one idea to the next, all the while engaging the interest of the fans, spectators and competitors. From my experience he is "one of the best"!
